OK so I did my water test. Been running about 4 hours now. I have no leaks any were :eek1: . Totally shocked by that one as I never do plumbing.
Some points I learned. First I had my pump wide open and it damn near sucked my return section dry
. That wasn't good. So I did adjust that with the valve. No problem there now.
Second I turned off my pump to check the amount of water flowing back to my sump..... Damn near near overflowed my sump. So some adjustments were needed there. One was the durso tubes in my overflows were pushed all the way down. Fixed them and checked it again. Much better but still a little high for me. So the second adjustment was the flex returns in the tank. I had them way to far below the surface of the water. Adjusted them so they are closer to the top. Turned off the pump again.... Ta Da that worked perfectly. Raised the volume of water in my sump about 3 inches. Still have plenty of room left.
Now on to my question my drain lines coming from the tank to the sump are 1" in diameter. They are about 7 inches below the water surface of the sump. They gurgle and have crazy air bubbles. I assume thats from being so deep in the sump water? What should they be. Not above the water level right? That would be just as noisy. I'm thinking they should be about 1" below the surface? I don't hear the overflows or anything, pretty darn quite except the drain area in the sump gurgling. Any ideas?
And last how long should I leave this water test? I have read that some people leave it 24 hrs? But heck if it don't leak after 3 hours it isn't going to leak is my thinking. Lets get some salt water going!
