As I've only kept fish only in the past, I do not know much about powerheads. I need to know what gph I need and how many are needed for the aquarium.
My tank is a 60 gallon (48 in long, 26 in high, 12.5 in wide) with a sandbed. I am not 100% on what corals I want to keep at this point, but will be starting with corals which require low to medium flow. I only have various mushroom, zoos, and polyps in mind at this point. I have experience with saltwater aquariums, but not with corals so I am taking it easy at first!
I ran across the hydor koralia powerheads today and they look quite interesting. I like the ability to direct the flow and magnetic mounting. Any opinions on this pump? I believe the 1 is rated 400 gph.
Where should I be mounting powerheads within the tank, and how many would I need?
Thanks for advice, links, etc!
