Watermelon Chalice

I have an opportunity to purchase one of the original watermelon chalice frags. What is a decent price for these? Also, I'm interested in my ability to get my money back out of this investment. What sort of growth rate do these exhibit and what sort of price do they generally fetch? It's a truly amazing looking coral but most of the prices I've seen are ridiculous. Thanks.

about $200 for a 1/2 inch. They are slow growers at first but when the colony gets more surface area it grows a little faster. Not as fast as other corals i.e. acros and montis

You'll be fine with your lighting in your signature. Mine is low, i.e. bottomin an 18" high tank, and off to the side under 2x250w MH. They will bleach out under to much light. Acclimate slowly, starting off on the bottom. Mine has grown slow but really started to take off recently once it hit 50 cent size. Price varies but usually quite pricey.

Well, I have just purchased one from reeftecdesigns. The original source that tubs got their frag from. Hope it's all it's made out to be.

The color is truly stunning. The pink in mine positively glows and with the green edge and yellow/green eyes...a site to behold. Well worth the investment for the joy of seeing it everyday in my tank.

I wouldn't pay more then $200. I'd pay from $165 - $200 depending on size. Most frags are about the size of a dime.

Mine likes alot of light. More then typical chalices. Also its a very slow grower IME. I've had mine for about 2 or 3 months and haven't seen it grow at all. It healthy, just not growing.

I didn't know Ron had any available, I remember Hugo telling me thats where he got it from.
