wattage for a Tunze Wavebox?

Hi Roger,
How many watts does a wavebox actually use. I 've read it has low power consumption but no actual numbers. I'vd searched wavebox + watts with no luck. I can't even find the wavebox on Tunze's website. Also, is there a difference between US and European watts used. I remember reading that the 6080s eventhough are rated at 17W in the US actually run in the 20s. I have 2 and they run at 25-26w each. Also, will the wattage very with the frequency of the wave? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Daniel

Between 5 and 60w averaging 30w an hour. I would clean and seriously check your 6080's, at 122V, they draw no more than 21W. Even if you have about 127V which is the highest I have seen in the US it shouldn't be that high. I suspect you have a plugged cooling duct in the center of the magnet or the rotor is sticking to the upper bearing. Either that or your watt meter is not accurate and doesn't factor in PF.

That's not good news. I wasn't concerned about the 4 watt difference as it's insignificant. But since I just cleaned the streams in vinegar/water 3 weeks ago I'm worried. The watt meter is a plug and play Kill-a-watt. Supposedly error proof for non electricians like me. I just checked it with a 100 watt bulb and it was accurate. I then checked both streams and they were at .31 amps and 25-26 watts. How do I check the streams for plugged cooling duct or sticky rotors.
Thanks,
Daniel

Take the rotors out and just follow the manual. The cooling duct is the hole in the center of the rotor. It needs to be free of deposits, same for the bottom of the magnet where it rides on the upper bearing.
