Wave box 6215 alarm

One of my pair of 6215 wave boxes made an alarm. Upon opening it up, I found a bigger problem than expected, an actual hole in the housing.

Is the pump now completely lost or can the housing be replaced? If lost as expected, the replacement pump on the tunze site appears to be a newer model. Will that still work paired with my original model wave box extension? Would it work with a current model wave box (about the same price as a replacement pump for my original model)? Your recommendations are appreciated.
Thanks.

That hole is normal, it is molded in. Their is a void space in the pump and that lets water in and the air can escape. The electronics and motor coils are sealed in resin inside. The 6215.200 is the current pump, it will work, however, you also need the 6215.300 sponge and 6105.240 power supply to have a complete working unit.

OK, thanks- should have opened up the other unit to see the hole. I guess some more troubleshooting is required to see if I can get the pump running again.

It's a 6260. It had been out of use for a few years, but I cleaned it up and tested it a few weeks ago in anticipation of starting the tank up again. It ran fine during the testing. I put it in the new tank and just get the alarm as soon as it's plugged in.

If I connect the pump to the other driver/power supply I still get the alarm. The drive unit/propeller feels like it is well-seated and will turn 180 degrees with a fairly light touch.

A 6260 should have a blue or silver driver box and a torroidal power supply (heavy round copper coil). From the description it sounds like either a propeller assembly problem (stuck to the bearing 3000.610 by calcium or dried salt) or a dying/dead motor. Usually if it is the driver, the driver will get hot at the bracket on top and beep. The power supplies almost never fail unless the driver is bad and it is run in that condition for an extended time. I have seen cases where the driver power socket is loose from the board, the power on these was 2 outer hot 19V leads and common center neutral, if only one hot makes contact that can also be a cause.

So as I mentioned I have the wave box and the extension so I have two of everything. I have been able to have an operational unit using either of the toroidal power supplies, either of the drivers and either of the propeller assemblies. Only one of the actual pump units however will work, and no combination of power supply, driver, or propeller assembly will allow the faulty pump to operate. The only issue grossly that I can see with the faulty pump (and this is more following my recent manipulations) is that the large outer O-ring between the pump unit and the front plastic "shield" piece is becoming loose. So I think I've definitively isolated the problem to the actual pump and not the power supply, driver, or propeller assembly. This problem also occurred in between use, rather than during the operation. Any thing else to do besides sending the pump in?

The only solution is to find a used working motor or purchase the new 6215.200 pump and the needed pieces to adapt it. They are a sealed unit and cannot be repaired and the motor has not been available since late 2009. Usually the culprit is the hall sensor has shifted, this will typically happen with exposure to temperature extremes, it can no longer read the magnet rotor position and as a result it does not function. If you are in the US and call me, I can discount a 6215 upgrade set.
