Wave box without overflows?

I have a drilled 75 gallon without overflows (I know a dollar short and a day late) I keep the water level around 2" below the top of the tank. My question can I run a wave box with a controler (turned down) and still be happy with the waves and not build up a huge wave where I have to worry about overflow?

Yank is AGA and has about 100-115 lbs of live rock if that matters? not sure?

On a 75, the biggest wave you could get is about 1" so I don't see a problem. The wavebox comes with it's own controller and you have to use that one, to turn it down you can reduce the power on the driver.
