wave compared to wavebox

I know you all are probably sick of this question, just humor me

I have a 120g 4x2x2 tank with a wavebox and a few nanostreams. The wavebox wave is complete, water moves everywhere in the tank. Is this the type of wave I can expect from a vortech? With one or two pumps? Are there any videos of waves made by the vortech?

And lastly, can anyone say some kind words to assuage my fears of rusting, breakage etc that I see talked about in this forum?

Regarding the wave, with two pumps on a 120gal you should be able to achieve a 3/4 - 1.5" wave, the wave will be very similar to a wave box, with flow moving everywhere throughout your tank. Depending on placement and timing of the pumps you can also get diagonal waves, double waves, and create other 'choppy' type water conditions.

How do you set the pulse to get the wave on the vortechs? Is it anything like tunzes analog control?

Also, do I need two pumps to get a wave? Or can I use one, to test it out, and get a wave?

You use a dial to adjust it, it's pretty easy. Most report that they can dial in a wave within five minutes.

Also, one thing I forgot to mention is that with two pumps on a 120 not only will you be able to achieve a wave, but you'll also get the benefits of consistent directional flow if you use the pumps in any of the other modes. Basically the product is a more versatile unit in that sense versus a wave box, which only creates waves.

Excellent. Last question, do I need *two* pumps or can I start with one? (to get the wave)

For a wave will you likely require two pumps however you can always go for one and try it out.
