Wavebox and multicontroller

I have a 6000 on a single controller in a 90 gallon and was thinking of adding a wavebox, would there be any need or benefit to also adding the multicontroller, or would it be the same without the multicontroller. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

The only real advantage would be being able to turn the wavebox on for certain parts of the day, the photocell, will run the night mode on the wavebox independently if you want it to turn off at night.
