Wavebox and Overflow Modifications

Hi Roger,

I just received my Wavebox for a 150 (5x2x2) that has dual overflows positioned in each corner. My water level currently is just under a half and inch (.5). I just want to confirm that after searching previous posts I will need at least and 1.5" of clearance between the water line and the perimter bracing (acrylic tank). Throttling down my return does not make a significant difference. I assume that the only change I can make is to lengthen the overflow grooves. Is this a difficult process?

One guess regarding flow. I have two 6100 that will be complimenting the Wavebox and my returns are plumbed to two Sea-Swirls. Will those Swirls impact the creation of a wave?

Thanks for your help.

In a 5ft tank I think an inch should be suffficient. If you have acrylic overflows a dremel is all you need but you have to drain the tank down first. If you have a low voltage dremel or a proxxon system you can do it safely with just dropping the water level a little and stopping the flow and occasionally netting out the plastic debris.
