Wavebox height

Hey, I just want to know how big a wave you can get with a big tank, like 500 gallons 10ft long or so with the extension.

The longer the tank the longer the surge would be right? I find on my 6 foot tank that I get a surge that moves dirt almost an inch wich is the same as the wave height. But it moves it back and forth, then a over a millimeter towards the wavbox. So essentially its moving dirt a millimeter every wave.My tank is bb.

In the future I Plan on getting a large tank of 500 gallons or so, and it will be desighned with the wavbox in mind.

How do you like it.I want to get one but I might have to remove some live rock to fit it.I was conserned about the wave hiting my overflows plus my tank is only 4ft

I love it! It totally makes the tank look so cool. It looks just like the ocean. Things sway back and forth, so do the fish. Dirt moves back and forth and out from under rocks. It tends to make a pile of ditritus rather than lift and suspend it like people say. This product is A++. Tunze Rocks!

One feature I really like about it is the ability to controll everything! The pump speed, wave height, stop button to feed the fish then it starts automatically after 7 minutes. Also, the photo censor is neat. When the lights go out the wavebox stops to allow the zooplankton to come out in calm water and feed.

I like tunze way of thinking, to mimic nature. Thats all there is to it.

Im so impressed with the box, that im going to get the streams now.:D ( Probably another year.....)

I would not worry about the wave in a 4 footer. My tank is 6 feet and it raises about 1". Only thing is the sound of water splashing over the overflow...it sound like the beach, waves crashing. Does not bother me but i can sleep through anything.crash, crash, crash, crash, ect. Just like that. But its LOUD. Not joking about the noise. It would keep you awake at night. But the censor stops the wavebox on your choice so no biggie imo.:)

O yea, my stand rocks about 1/2 a millimeter. Its a diy wood stand with 8 2x4's holding it up. Somthing to consider if your stand is gehetto.

Check gallery for a pic of the stand.

On a 10ft tank you could get about a 2.5" wave or a wave of about 1.25" as a double wave. On longer tanks you can halve the time interval and make two waves instead of one, at 12ft you can get 3 waves.
