I don't see a cheap way to fix this up, without the pump, it is just a plastic box and a controller worth about $150 in spare parts new. The older model pumps are so old, it is likely throwing good money after bad, the 6260 was made from 2004-2007 and finding one which still runs and will run for much longer is a challenge, the 6261 was just made for 2 years before it was replaced by the 6215. I could discount the parts needed, but even then it will be 300+. A 6155 could work, but it is more expensive.
