Wavebox in a big tank?

X-FACTOR

Roger, I have 2 waveboxes (wavebox and an extention) in this tank (850) they are now placed where the "red" boxes are firing together in the same direction. Would I get more "surge" if I placed them where the blue boxes are and ran them opposing each other? (one firing then the other) They have been running for quite a while now (a year?) and dont seem to have as much "punch" as they once did. Is there anything I can do to bring them back to their strongest? Thanks!

I wouldn't expect either configuration to be ideal. They really should be placed on the end wall facing down the length of the tank, given the width I think both on the same side is the ideal. The performance may have declined because the pumps need cleaning or the sponge which is a vibration dampner and not a filter, is partially covering the intake. It is also possible that the growth of the corals or movement of rocks requires re tuning.
