Wavebox - Not on end of tank

Anyone had experience with the wavebox not being on the end of the tank ?

I have a free standing island that has a open back. I want to mount the wave box inside the notch of the island.

The island is made from SafetGrate, and has about 200+ lbs of live rock on it. So there is a solid surface to mount the wavebox to.

However the location is going to put wavebox about 20" from the right edge of the tank and about dead center in a tank that is 33" wide from front to back.


Wavebox arrives on Monday.

Anyone have any thoughts.....

The distance is marginal as far as being able to propagate a wave, I don't think it will work. I haven't tried it though.

Roger,

Mounted the wavebox behind the island. Didn't take long to dial it in.

I am generating about a 3/4" wave across the tank (only 1).

However when I turn on my additional Tunze's in the tank, they really knock the strength out of the wave box.

Good news is, with my surge tank, it cancels the wave so no splashing outside the tank.

What size waves have other people been generating in highly stocked tanks ?

No, we are too small for RMA's Just send it with a not as to who it is from. I don't need the transformer so keep that.
