Wavebox question

I have a 300 gal. 66x36x30(high) acrylic with center overflow (by center I mean centered by all sides which creates an island) and was wondering how one would work on my tank? Would I need the extension?

You should not need the extension. Assuming you can place it so the output is not aimed at the overflow, say 1ft in from either end, it should work well.
