Wavebox questions

Hi there couple question about the wave box

1. Will it hold on 3/4 thick acrylic with a magnetic holder?

2. Will it work just as well pointing to the front of the aquarium as it will going longways?

3. Which model should I use on a 180 Gallon tank?

1) Yes.

2) It is ideal to face it down the length of the tank, in most cases though it will generate some wave if faced to the front.

3) 6215.

thanks for the quick response, I guess I will have them design the overflows to be external to allow a clear lane for the wavemaker to function

You can also just position the wavebox in front of the overflow, it does not need to be in a corner.

It needs to be placed on the end of the tank, it should have a fairly unobstructed shot across the tank. It works on resonance frequency and so placement and timing of the pulses are critical to function.

They can be placed anywhere in the tank including behind rock work but try to keep a clear run in the first portion of the wave generation so it has a chance to build up. Take a look at wave motion and wave mechanics via a google search to understand the mechanics behind the generation of a wave. This is a excellent product by the way.
