wavebox stopping randomly

I just got a wavebox for our classroom tank and it seems to randomly turn off. I occasionly have it hooked up to my 6105 to pulse with it and that seems to cause it to happen more. Its not blocked by anything, I have to unplug it and plug it back in, but sometimes it takes like 5-10 mins for it to work again. Any idea's?

Thanks

Have you taken it apart yet and cleaned it, it truely could be that simple. What model pump is in it?

If it is brand new it will be the new style. Might be worth opening the pump just to make sure the housing etc... is seated correctly. When it stops does the controller leds still oscillate? When you plug in the second pump as slave do they both stop or just the wavebox? If the 6105 does not stop have you tried swapping cables?

yes, the LED's still flash back and forth, even if it isnt pulsing. The 6105 will still pulse. I'll try switching the cables.

What controller are you using? The wavebox should only be used in wavemode and not pulse mode. In wavemode it will turn off and on every .30-2.00 seconds. Pulsing between two speeds can cause the wavebox to overheat and shut down, it is only intended for this off and on wavemode use.

In wavemode the LED under wavemode will be illuminated, if pulse is illuminated the mode is wrong for the wavebox. To enter wavemode you hold the auto tune button for 2 seconds and then it will enter wave mode and start the auto tune feature. You will see the wavemode LED blink, every 3 seconds the wave timing will advance .01 seconds and when you see a wave you hit the auto tune button again, you can then fine tune with the + or - buttons to maximize the wave height.

The wavebox light is illuminated. The pulse is not. It only happens when I plug it into the 6105. I have already used the auto calibrate feature and when operational, works nicely. It just turns off occasionally. Wierd thing is, the 6105 stays in "wavebox" mode.

What is the reason for connecting the 6105? This would only marginally boost wave height and the 6105's would be more effective in a pulse or interval mode. I am puzzled by why this is occurring as it should work, but this is not a very effective use of the 6105.

Good question. I dont have another controller and I didnt want it conflicting with the wavebox. I guess I'll just run it seperately.
