wavebox with eurobracing?

I'm considering ordering a wavebox but I'm unsure how well it will work on my tank. My tank is a oversized 120g, it's 50" x 25" x 24", comes out to 130g. It constructed of 1/2" acrylic with 5" eurobracing at the top. The overflow is an external overflow that's in the middle of the back wall. My main concern is that the water level is 1" from the top of the tank. How far does the wavebox need to be out of the water? Will the 1" I have be enough? Also will it work well on a 50" tank. I really wish I could try one out before I drop $600 on it. Please give me some feedback.

It needs to be right about 3/4" from the top so you should be ok with the 1". It would be awesome on a 50" tank, there was a video around of a guy getting a 3" wave on a 75g tank which is 48" long...

The problem I see is that the wave will likely be taller than the tank and splash out, you can reduce the wave height but I wouldn't want a wave much shorter than 1" as it doesn't do much for the flow. You will need 2 magnet holders to install it since the eurobracing will not allow the traditional clamp holders.
