I picked up...and boy is my back killing me...my 215 gal oceanic starfire glass tank today from a LFS.

He said Tunze does NOT recommend using a wavebox w/ glass tanks b/c it eventually blows out the seams in the corners.

He has two on his acrylic reef tank, and loves them.

Anyone ever heard this????

i have two tunze wavebox, 2 x 6200 in my cube tank (GLASS). I know lots of people use them in their glass tank without any problem.

It does shorten the life of the tank , Alough ive never heard of one busting due to a wave box ( if you put one in a 7-10 year old tank , ya its prolly not a good idea ) heh. I

I have yet to see an Acrylic tank in Europe so they were of course designed for glass tanks. The manual specifies that a well built tank will have a 10-15% shorter life when a wavebox is used. It is as Versus said, not a good idea on an old, used, or poorly built tank.
