Hello,
I have a tunze wavebox and a 90 Oceanic reef aquarium. When I hook up the wavebox I can feel the vibrations when I touch the glass of the aquarium. When I refer to the manual it states that the aquarium must be made according to Timoshenko's formula. I'm concerned about damaging the aquarium. Can you shed some light on this issue?

Timoshenko's formula can be found on a google search but to put it as simple as possible it just specifies how thick the glass must be to have the correct surface area to form a strong bond. Oceanic is pretty much the best there is, the tank life will be reduced but basically I would consider an Oceanic a 20 year tank, it might now only last 18 assuming it is not subjected to other stresses.

So, when I feel the vibrations in the aquarium, this is expected and the aquarium was constructed to withstand the dynamic load.
