Wavebox

I was wondering what for sure i would want in my 300 sps tank. It's 96x30x24 tall, and i was wondering if a tunze wavebox plus one wavebox extention would be what i would want to get a nice wave giong in my tank. I have a friend who has a wavebox and a 6200, operating counter current, and he has nice flow/movement. I was wondering if jsut the two waveboxes would be suficient in my tank.

Thanks!

Tim

I think it would be better to do as your friend has. The wavebox is not a good flow solution on it's own it lifts and suspends debris and ensures no dead spots but some form of directional flow is required.

Thanks for the info! I was wondering if i should do the same as him, and have them counter operate, turning the pump on when the wavebox turns off, and vice versa? He has a 6200 (i just called and ordered a new shaft from you for him a few minutes ago), and it turns on and off every second or so against the wavebox, and he does get a nice wave. Or would it work better with the wavebox and a 6200 counter oscillating, with an extra 6200 on constantly? Just tyring to think of the best option, sorry for all the questions!

I would use the 6200 constantly and from the same side as the wavebox, I think this is most effective, the way you suggest makes a bigger wave but besides the show it doesn't do as much for the actual flow needs of the corals.

Yet another question...sorry....... Willi need a seperate controller for the 6200? The wavebox controller can not control that can it...? Or just leave it full bore all the time? Thanks again!

Tim

I would start with just the pump and wavebox and then decide what you want to do. If you feel you need another pump the multicontroller would be better if the one is satisfactory just get the single controller.
