Waveboxes with end overflows?

Roger,
I am thinking of adding a wavebox and extension to my 400 gal tank. I would then like to change the 4 6100 Streams to simulate tidal flow. The tank is viewable from both sides, 8ft long. The only real options for placement is the ends of the tank. The question is whether the end overflows will be a problem with wave production. I have about 2-3in between the water surface and the 3" wide lip at the tank top.

Also, is there a controller that controls both the wavebox and Streams or 2 different controllers? I currently have the original multicontroller. The website says about the 7095 "A wavebox 6212 and the pumps mentioned above can also be controlled by the Multicontroller. " I have heard this multicontroller is improved over the original. Would it be worth getting this to replace my current one to control the Streams and wavebox?

You would need a wavebox and an extension, the wavebox comes with a controller- the extension is the exact same unit with no controller and they share the 6091 Wavebox controller . You have to use this controller but it can be piggy backed onto a 7094 or 7095. The only benefit of doing this is you can use interval (tide mode) to have the wavebox off for periods of time, otherwise their is no advantage.

One more queswtion. Does Tunze make anything to protect the Streams from fish entering when they are off? Is the protective grating 6212.20 for that purpose?

That grating will only fit a 6200. Hopefully when time permits we will get to making a smaller version. The 6000 and 61000 though do have "fishcare" which turns the pumps one RPM when off.
