im considering getting a wavemaker for my 175g.. its 72" long, and has two overflows built in...

what height wave would i expect, and would i need to get additional power heads... i assume i would... do they need to be on some kind of controller or just set running continuously?

i have a rock wall kinda in the way of the end of the tank, would i need to move this?

also would my mushrooms and zoas like it or will they be buffeted? not worried about the old sps theyd love it :)

heres an old pic...

Hey man thats my wavebox. It was on a 240rr and i got about a 1.5 inch wave 8'x2'x2'. I did have have one extra tunze 6000 on it which i might get rid of to. But thats all i needed and it gave me great results just doesnt work with new aquascape. It does come with a controller for it. I would use a couple of those korillias to run with it. Use them to run and help with low tide feature with timers. can give you tons of suggestions. pm me and we can chat.

It would work, I would expect a 1"-1.5" wave. As Steve said, the controller is included.

I'm also in the market for a wavebox, I have a 180 rr AGA with corner overflows, mostly SPS LPS and a few softies, would I need anything more than the wave box or should I still keep some powerheads?

You do want powerheads in addition to the wavebox, the wavebox flow is non directional.

I have 3 MJ1200's and 2 tunze nanosteams in there now... I was hoping the wavebox would allow me to get rid of the extra heat/eyesores...

i had a 6000 tunze that worked at night more than the day. i did the high tide low tide. wave box and about 50% power on 6000 and it worked great. The beauty of the wave box is the fact that there are no dead spots and it keep everything suspended. i have a ton of sps, some nice lps and a ton of zoas and everything loved the movement and had great color and this was a 240.
