wavemaker questions

I saw this on marine depot wavemaker and i was just wondering if anybody uses it?

What powerheads I can use with it?

Also is it worth the price to buy it?

I've had it for years without any issues. I have 4 maxi jets on it and it does a good job of creating random currents in the tank.

red sea pro hands down, I have 4 MJ1200 pumps plugged in it and is just perfect.

how many maxijets would I need for my 20 long...I have 2 koralia 1's and it just isnt doing the job....

I had that one and would recommend <i>against</i> getting it. Mine stopped working properly a few months after running it. Some of the outlets would stay on for hours or days - the timer is unreliable on it.

So now I just have all my powerheads on all the time. The flow hitting against each other provides plenty of turbulence.

The red sea one looks cool, but a bit pricey.

And those Koralias are not really good with wavemakers. They seem to be more for staying on all the time. There's some mod you can do to stop the turn on damage but why bother? Just run them continuous.

yea I wouldnt use them if I bought a wavemaker....I was also thinking of making a HOB closed loop like on melevs website....Is the sqwd and good?
