waves in sump

Just did a water change and cleaned to return pumps , we have waves in sump? What could be the cause

waves in the sump? Like standing wave? Maybe its because of gurgling in the overflow pipe? try backing down the return pump a little to allow the overflow to breathe a little

Do you have powerheads in your sump? This caused waves in my "middle return" because the powerhead was facing upward.

waves yes, they have calmed down , got the gurgling taken care of in one of the returns . have externals pumps that take water back into the tank. Ya it was like a mini ocean in the last chamber of sump
