Wavysea Powerheads

hello everyone hope everyone is enjoying their day !:D

I wanted to know if anyone has used this powerhead before.
They are pricey and wanted to know are they worth the money ?

They are fairly new to the market, but i am looking for some info on this as well. anyone out there please share.

They seem to mount only on European style tanks. I bought 2 of them and the black trim on my AGA tank is too thick. I am not too good at DIY so I may send them back. Everyone has said to make a bracket to mount it.

I figured they where a new item to the trade

I have never heard of them nor seen a tank with this powerhead in them.

I looked at the pics on the website www.wavysea.com

I contacted them because I didn't understand how they would attached to an acrylic tank.

they e-mailed me back saying this

"Actually, Wavysea mounting is designed for using of Acrylic or Glass tank. Thererfore, you can buy any acrylic tank and use Wavysea with pleasure.

Thank you/Jay"

Still don't understand how you mount it
I guess you would have to drill holes in your tank to make it work?

I might try them they look promising I had a plan I would like to try with the water motion.

doesn't the power head have an outside part that has to wedge the glass or acrylic to stay on?

it seems that you need to drill.

do you have better pics so I could see the pieces it comes with ?

Wavysea will also be availbe in my country on 28March and I'm planning to buy one. From their website, I found that it comes with a main body, control panel, power adaptor, fixing bracket and some accessories. No purmp/power head is included in the box. The main body only consists of an inlet and a rotating outlet to create current. From the controller, we can set the angle of rotation and the frequency of rotation.

I'm wondering can it be connected to Eheim 2227 and fixed on my Juwel Rio125 .

Any correction or further information?

thanks sixliner6

that really does help :D

I see what you are saying also. That space is to thin to fit on your tank.

ok acrylic aquariums don't have a bare edge so how will it fit on one not unless its a custom bare edge tank. ?

I wonder why they made the brace like that ?

well I still don't see how you put it on an stardard acrylic tank

like the finnex 32 gallon or even a custom acrylic with the same top

I can only see this powerhead is just only for thinner glass tanks or acrylic tanks custom with bare edges.:rolleye1:

too bad it looks really cool on the trailer and the videos they showed.:(

if your acrylic is too thick, then you can get a thinner piece that i guess you can glue to the top of yoru tank and attach that to your wavysea.

Argh! That's pretty disappointing. I'm building a brick-style tank and had been considering the Wavy Sea. Guess I'll either have to consider a small glass mounting strip on the back or find another plan...
