Congrats Gary, and what better way to "immortalize" your tank!! I'm still sad about your losses, but have no doubt your next tank will be TOTM someday.

I've got several of your "frags" that are now "colonies", let me know when you're ready!

Have you figured out "the substrate dilemma"?

John
Thanks, John. I've been very busy lately, so please excuse my delay in replies. "Immortalized" is a good way of putting it but "eulogized" might be a better word choice.
I have no doubt the new aquarium will be very special someday. I'm planning on purchasing some SPS frags from you soon.
I put in a SSB of CaribSea Special Grade Seafloor aragonite. (I know, I know!)
Imagine a LFS so hip that they cringed when they heard that was what I was doing (Marine Oasis).
I know what to avoid, and I'm willing to take on the chore of keeping it free of accumulated detritus.
Besides, I have certain sandbed critters that I want to keep happy.

:)

Is this an April Fool's Joke? :D Just kidding!

Congratulations Gary. That is quite an honor and well deserved!

Carrie
Thanks, Carrie. It's no joke. I'll never forget this. The good , the bad and the ugly. (I'm the one that's been ugly!)

Soooo Thattttt explains why you were taking so many pictures. This whole move thing was just another activity in the back ground.

J/K

Congrats. I'm sure the new tank will be that much better!
Yeah. The move was just a minor distraction! ;)
Besides, had I chosen to sell the contents of the aquarium prior to moving I had pics readily available.

I have never met Gary. I can say though that aside from the high honor of Tank of the Month, which is clearly deserved, he should also get credit for being one of the driving forces that keeps this forum going. Outstanding!
This means a lot to me. Thanks.

Gary,

Congrats and I agree with Spartan, Although we have never met and we did miss each other in SYR, I could not agree more that you are defiantly a corner stone of the forum. You take this hobby to the next level with your knowledge of species and common sense. Keep up the good work....Oh by the way when your tank is settled in, I should be up your way in a few weeks, would love to see the new system and grab that frag. Take care

GR

Thanks. If you're coming up in a couple of weeks all I'll have for you is a refund. Some local folks have frags of that tricolor Acro and we'll both be looking for one now.

No problem Gary, sorry to hear you lost that Acro, it was a nice one. So who has a frag of that Tri color Acro that used to be on Gary's Avatar?

Because of the coral being fragged in advance of our move and the generosity of fellow URS members I'll be getting a piece of this Acro back. :)

Congratulations Gary. Well deserved and I'll echo others comments on what an ambassador you are for this hobby. Have fun building the new tank again .... it should be fun shouldn't it?

Cheers,

SteveL

I do with his name on it!

Congratulations! You deserve this honor. Your tank demonstrates your expertise with this hobby which freely share with others. Thanks for all you do and share.

Congratulations Gary. I look forward to see what you do with your new tank. I'm sure it will rock.

Steve
