way too much gsp - what to do?

Hi - I have a bunch of green star polyp and made the mistake of letting it get off its own rock onto my rock work. How do I stop the blob? Will it peel off in sheets? It looks very pretty, but it is eating up valuable real estate. Suggestions?

I have heard they are the "weeds" of the reef aquarium. Funny, some can't grow the stuff!

you can manage it with kalk just like aptasia or try and peel it and slice it with a blade?

It's a job, I used Kalk, scrubbed, even left outside over winter (about 6 months) in a bucket of changed water. I liked the rock and wanted the growth on it without the GSP. Everytime I thought it was free of GSP's and I put it in my tank about a week later a polyp would pop out of a hole in the rock. Finaly dried the rock for a month and that did it.

Chisel it off the rockwork worked for me

trade the rock to the LFS for a new clean piece of rock and possibly some trade value. Thats what I have done in the past with red mushrooms and Xenia. That way your not killing anything and everybody wins. You could probably do the same with other reefers, gsp makes a great addition for beginners.
