We ever have a tank tour?

I moved here from Idaho about a year ago. The club up in Boise wasn't the greatest, but one they did do every year was have a city wide "Tank Tour." Basically, they'd pick a Saturday. A bunch of folks with nice tanks would volunteer to allow their houses and/or offices to be toured by other fish club members and the public. Various LFS's who maintained big tanks at businesses around the city got permission to open the the business to the public for that one day.
They'd create a master list of all the tanks that were open for viewing, along with a brief description of what was in the tank along with what times the house would be open. Most of them were 10am to 7pm, or something like that. It was posted on their web site, and everyone was able to figure out how they'd move around the town to see as many tanks as possible.
Anyway, just an idea I had. I read about other folks tanks on here all the time, and while the photos are nice, it's not the same as seeing your tank for real. :) If anyone thinks this would be fun I'd be happy to help organize it, and see what we can get. Thanks much, have a good one.

I think we are planning one for OMAS here in Tulsa later in the year, trying now to see how many will participate and what month it will be.
I know everyone from COMAS will be invited, hope we can get it set up in a few months,I think right now we have about 6 or 8 people that will for sure do it,just need to work out the details...

Dave, I'd like some help buying, setting up and filling a 200gal tank so it could be on the tour.

You are welcome to come by and see my 75 for a look at a small tank with a big fish (and everything that necessitates).

i think the trip would be pretty short. just to paul's house and see his monster tank. after that everything is a let down...:D

i am kidding of course..we have a lot of nice tanks and LFS...just paul's tank puts everyone to shame....damn you Paul....:D

I probably won't be the primary organizer on this thing, but I'm happy to help where I can. It seems there is a lot of interest, so I'd like to start making lists: 1 - anyone who'd like to help organize and 2 - people who'd like to participate by displaying their tank(s).

lets do this:

The original plan was to do 4 tank tours, each one in a quadrant of the city/norman.

so.........if you want to volunteer to be a host (ie show your tank off) sign up under the area you are at. Also add a little note on the tank. Sign yourself up under your area. Copy and paste the list so no one gets lost along the way. Once we get enough names in an area we will begin the planning. Volunteering does not mean you HAVE to participate but allows us to gauge interest. Dates will be set later.

I was going to do the division later, but I guess it's easier to do it now. Thanks, Paul.

come on guys....you dont have to have a killer reef....this is all about participation and friendship, not just your tank and what you have. Lets make this a worth while venture and get a bunch more tanks on this tour. We want at least 10 from each section.....

Paul.

Okay Paul, I'll bite.....(I guess I can use a few friends) :)
