we have a stand to leg on

Hey CheckinHawk that is cool - so you are getting your pump today? That would be great if you did, now you'll see what a real pump can do to your "Swirlygig - 6" - LOL. Hey are you drill a 3 inch hole for you intake? I think you said you had a 2" bulkhead and if it's the normal and not heavy duty then the 80mm bit will work. I think mflamb said he used the 80mm for the 2 inch bulkheads he needed. I'll bring the 75, 80 and the 85 tomorrow that way you're covered. Do you need to barrow any other size - nows the time/anymore 1-3/4inch holes?

85mm = 3.3464567 inches Heavy Duty 2” Bulkhead 3-1/4 = 82.55mm
80mm = 3.1496063 inches Regular 2” Bulkhead 3” = 76.2mm
75mm = 2.9527559 inches Regular 2” Bulkhead 3” = 76.2mm

reefartist i think the 80 and 85mm will be fine.i dont even have the bulkhead fitting yet for the 2" intake.ill just call FAOIS and ask him how big the 2" bulkhead he stocks is.

That sounds good, then your bases are covered. We'll be down at Rockin Reef Tenish and then I heard FAOIS have some cool things in, so I'm going to check it out after that :D ! Just making my LFS rounds.

cool ill drill 85mm.i can see i want the sch80.im am installing the cheap bulkheads i got and a few will slip the threads if i tighten too much(im only going hand tight too).

checkinhawk were you going to use schedule 80 bulkhead or 40? Thanks for the information mflamb, I couldn't remember if it was the 80 or 85 that you used.

That's cool with room to spare, is there enough room behind to route all the PVC without a millon elbows? Man with this plumbing you'll be ready to do a 390g :D.

checkinhawk...That looks great!!! I love to see a crisp plumbing job.
ReefArtist...Do you have a ball valve on the outlet of your sump return pump?

Yes I do. I've adjusted it and the pumps ball valve just to see if it would help and it did "some". I think what the problem might be is the distance the water is falling to get into my return area. I don't want to feather back on the input and put pressure on the pump but I might have to until a get the sump re-built. At this time they aren't to bad but I'd like none :D.

Yea that's what I've heard. I have it completely open now and feathered back the output side. The bubbles are less but still there, I might have to check out the system section by section and see what's going on.
