Weather Related Shipping

I have an active Divers Den order that is to be shipped on Monday December 4 for priority overnight delivery on Tuesday December 5. Divers Den rules say it must be shipped within 2 business days (which is normally not a problem). However, if we have a winter storm scheduled for Tuesday, what happens if FEDEX cannot deliver? Is it my loss or yours? Is there any provision for checking weather forecasts and delaying shipping? Clarification of these issues would be appreciated.

snorvich,

Thank you for your great question. Please be assured if there is a delay in your shipment due to severe weather your warrantee will not begin until you receive the shipment. Though the weather is checked each morning before shipping the specimen from our holding facility, the forecast may change without warning. The specimen should be fine as they are packed with 48-72 hours of pure oxygen and heat packs according to the weather conditions in your area. We ask that if there is a delay in your shipment due to the weather, please accept the package, to give the specimen the best chance to survive. We will be happy to take care of any issues that you have and compensate for any losses due to unexpected delays. Please contact us at 1-800-334-3699 when you receive the shipment if you have any questions or concerns so we may further assist you.

Sincerely,

Thanks, that is what I wanted to know. As always, your process for customer satisfaction is as expected. Most of the time if I can get them here alive, I can resuscitate them to good health.

MimicTang,

Thank you for your post. Since we ship our orders all year long, we take extreme care in packaging every order. In the winter our orders are packed in a Styrofoam container with heat packs, to help maintain the temperature throughout most of the shipment. During freezing temperatures it is always best to have someone accept the package to avoid extended exposure to the outdoor elements.
