webcam for monitoring your reef?

Just Reefin'
I'm trying to look around for a nice webcam to monitor my tank, and at the same time, can put one in our son's room... At least, that's the way I'm selling this to my wife.

I've looked at Cisco WVC200 Wireless-G PTZ Internet Video Camera (actually someone locally selling one for pretty cheap)... I haven't done much research, but mainly looking for a decent webcam (wireless obviously), with some sort of zoom, and audio would be an added bonus (especially for the kid's room)..

Do any of you guys have a cam.. if so what kind?

Look up foscam
There ip cameras their wireless or hardwired
Have Ptz or stationary
Also night vision
I have 4 around my house for surveillance Recording to a Mac
And pretty cheap around 80.00 each

I just ran into these earlier this morning.. which particular model do you have if you don't mind me asking? How is quality on them?

The quality is pretty good
The ones I have outdoor have limited range using the night vision
But my indoor are clear at night
Here is a screen shot of my front yard that I took just now
Mine are similar to the 8921 but not 720hd
Mine is a little older
I also have 3 8904
I'm happy with them
Easy to set up and never let me down
I have them set to outdoor so you lose a little color

XTL. Check out Costco which is right down the road from you on Randall. You can buy a QSEE DVR system pretty cheap from time to time. I bought mine a few years back with 4 Color CCD cameras for around 220 total. I monitor all entrances to my home but you could just use one of them to monitor your reef and the rest for security. They make both wireless and wired systems. Check online and in-store because the models vary in both spots.

Anything you get look for something with a Ccd lens
CMOS lens cameras are cheaper but have poorer video quality their very grainy
