Snow, and then more snow...aparently like many places in the US. The difference is the people here (well, a lot of us at least) WANTED it and were happy. It seemed to do little at stopping business as usual :).

God that looks sooo cold. Nice pics, now I don't have to travel there to see it. Thanks

Pretty nice :) I especially like the squirrel shot, I cant believe you saw one at this time of year, I havent seen or heard any for the last 6 months.

That's because you don't have any place to go!!! I was supposed to get to the orchid show on Saturday.

Joking Dude, beautiful as usual. Which lens did you use on the snow flake???

Actually it wasn't that cold...it was like in the upper 20's. Pretty warm actually. it was quite nice!! I'll take that over the single digits any day. Not that I mind those days either!

Yeah, that guy is in my yard a bunch. I've seen them scapmering on the trails when we're skiing or snowshoeing too.

I used the Canon 100mm Macro with a full set of Kenko extension tubes. Thus my recent posts about a focusing rail. What a PITA! I have a lot to learn about the world of Macro!! It is an entirely different world at that magnification and DOF. To me that shot is mediocore, but it was one of the few decent ones I got. Can you believe that is the texture of a fuzzy soft piece of black Velore for a background!?! I put it out in the snow to capture a few flakes. Didn't have any clean glass to use.

Its cool, because It almost makes it look like your shooting in the night sky and caught a snowflake in mid air and the white behind it is just out of focus flurries.... of course that type of shot would be near impossible.

I really liked the first squirrel picture.

I like the last picture of the first post with the snow on the trees and the mountain in the distance.

Alexander - cool, I hadn't seen that. Yeah, that'd be about impossible though huh :)?

Octo -yeah, it was pretty cool to be out skiing with that view infront of us. Just a P&S shot bt it captured some of the specacularness (probably not in the dictionary aye?) this place has to offer!

Thats the cool thing about photography. Other people see things you dont see. Especially because outsiders know nothing about the surroundings or how exactly the shot was taken (to an extent)

great picture though! even though to you its mediocre :)

If it was in the dictionary, I bet it would have a "t" in it :)

Obviously photoshoped! (sarcastic)

Seriously, who bikes in the snow-storm other than messenger/delivery guys... and I see no dreadlocks on those two therefore I know this is photoshop'ed! (still sarcastic)

As usual, great photos.. I almost want to enjoy winter more because of them... of course because of them I can sit at my computer and enjoy winter without the snow-pants. (not being sarcastic now)

LOL - man, winter is so much fun really. People have no idea! With the right gear you barely even know it. These guys are training for the Iditarod Trail Invitational (http://www.alaskaultrasport.com/alaska_ultra_home_page.html)
a 350 (or 1100!!) mile winter bike race. A friend of mine did a race once where he said he pushed his bike over 50 miles!! Can you imagine, pushing your bike thru the snow over 50 miles!!?!?! That same guy is signed up for this race too. Being around people like this makes you just want to strive to higher levels. You dig a little seeper than you thought could.

Though that extreme is not for me, I am picking up my Fat-tire bike TONIGHT!! Wahooo! I am psyched!! I've been riding studded tires all winter but if the snow gets soft or we get fresh snow it's a no go that way!!

I don't know, I love being outdoors and active. Extreme weather doesn't bother me, in fact it invigorates me. Not that I want to be in it all the time, I don't. Part of what I like about it is the appreciation you get for it once you get out of it (:))

I'm glad you guys like the pics. I start to wonder if anyone is even looking at the posts anymore....:).
