Awesome, we can never have enough power/amps for our tanks!
I have always been amazed at the power needs and the number of cords a saltwater tank requires!

I have made it law with my tanks to use these outlet covers if an outlet is within 5 feet of a tank. Simple to install, cheap, water resistant and could prevent a fire! I had an external skimmer overflow container overflow and spray skim all over a wall and all over one of these plug covers with no ill effects and no fire, just a smelly house.

Available at Homedepo, Lowes and ACE.

Oh yes those are already on just posted the pic after they were cut in very good advice , I think anyone with a tank should have that on all outlets near a tank seen some of the horror stories on here

Atom:

How much juice do you have running to your house? I'm curious because I was considering doing something similar but my breaker box is full and I have 200 Amp service. Adding a twenty amp circuit might overload things.

I think the total electrical draw from my tank is about 8.5 Amps and it's running on a 10 Amp circuit. Was wondering why you went so big (unless you have plenty of excess capacity)

I have a lot of room in my breaker box I'm not sure how much power I have running into the panel I would definitely get a experts opinion I had 7 empty slots in my box and also their was a spa when I bought my house I removed so I also pulled that breaker out sorry I couldnt help you out im sure their is a way, my buddies dad was a electrician for 30 years and is retired so he basically brought one of his buddies over and ran the wires from the panel through tje attic which was a major pain because I have vaulted ceilings.
