Weekend

I have to leave my tank for 2 or 3 days this weekend. How should I go about feeding my 3 chromis and dragon goby?
Could they survive without anything or should I get one of those feeder pyramids from the store? I am afraid this may cause my nitrates to go up again.

i don't know about the goby. if i'm gone for more then 24 hours, i try and have someone stop by and throw some food in it.
the chromies might be fine for 2 days though. fatten them up before you go i guess?

They'll be fine. DON'T get a feeder block - it will do nothing but foul your water. Feed them just before you walk out the door but don't overfeed them.

They should all be fine. My dad is out of town Monday through Thursday and his tanks don't get fed in that time at all. The only way you might have a problem is if you had a fish that was known to have a high metabolism and needed multiple feedings per day (or at least more frequent feedings than most).

I actually only feed every 3 days or so on purpose. The fish look no different at all than when I used to feed every day.

Ok i feed once a day. I will give them some food right before I leave and then feed them assoon as I get back.

I only feed every 2-3 days myself.But my tank has been up for a long time.

most reef fish can survive 2 weeks easily without eating because they are used to it in the wild
