Weird? Acan deflated for a few days after feeding!?

Been Reefin'
I've got a red acan colony that has actually been doing great. Fed it some pellets a couple days in a row and since then it's been deflated. Doesn't look sick or losing flesh just not puffy. The other 4 acans, different zoas, etc in the tank are all fine.

Is this from feeding? Any ideas?

Mine shrivels up when anything gets near it like a snail. I don't know if food would cause that though. I don't spot feed yet. They all seem to pull what they want when the food starts to get close to the bottom of the tank.

Acans & other LPS seem to sometimes deflate & inflate as part of a regular cycle. It may be tied to digestion, but who really knows? Since they seem to like lower light, maybe that's a factor with your LEDs?

I've read about instances of over feeding where the food can rot inside the polyp which sound very credible. Personally, I wouldn't feed pellets that contain terrestrial ingredients like vegetables or algae. I like the meaty foods like music, blackworms, cyclops etc.

Thanks for the replies. It's still deflated today with all the others looking fine.

It was acclimated to LEDs and has been under them for a month prolly. I'm kinda stumped unless its digestion or the pellets. Fed the others the same.....
