So my clowns have been in my system for a year now and about 1 month ago i got a rose bubble tip... after a week the true perc clown would swim near and around the anemone- it would chase off any small fish that come near it yet it never goes in it... i saw it go in once for about 3 seconds but the past 2 weeks thats all i saw.. is this normal?

yes, it is unpredictable when they will host. My clowns took 3 years to host an anemone.

yeh i know its unpredictable and some may not host but i guess my real question is what is my clown doing near the anemone - always- is he getting ready to host? is it a coincidence that the anemone is there.. no idea what to make of it. he protects it too which from what i know about clowns is a characteristic of hosting.. just wondering if this happens to other people!
thanks

It appears as if your fish is acclimating itself to the anemone. If I remember correctly, the fish must become resistant to the anemone's sting, therefore, you will see them brushing against it.

Oh yeh? didnt know about that how long does it take or where can i read about this, I have been looking everywhere for some information!
thanks for the info!
