Ok I dont know if its slime or whatever. I added a chromis to my nano last weekend. I checked the parameters of the tank and everything is in check "In check means according to the little booklets that come with the test kits" except my ph is 8.0, salinity is 1.023, Nitrates are 0, amonia is 0, no phosphates and I dont have any cheato in the back chambers.. I tried to add it twice but it "dissolved"?? calcium was at 460, 10 dkh, and 0 nitrites. I fed the new life spectrum that I asked about last week its a reddish color. I only feed seaweed, kelp flakes, phytoplankton, brine shrimp. other then the NLS.. soo yesterday I noticed a reddish stuff on top of the water. If I stick my arm in it actually comes out colored with redstuff on it..I dont have a skimmer on it cus the one I had was a pain in the arss and everytime I'd do something in the tank it fell apart and the tiny chambers in the back of the nano cubes dont give you room to work. I change out about half the water every week with water from G.A. Is this something to worry about?? should I try to get another skimmer, I cant use the other one cus I broke it.. Is this something that maybe can be taken care of with water changes?? The tank has been up for over a year now and Ive never had anything like this till now soo thats why I am kinda thinking it was/is related to the NLS food...cus its the same color as the food. I feel like a idiot and Im getting ready to start my 75 project as soon as the cichlids are all gone to their new home.. which that tank once its cycled will house the chromis. I'm not going to feed the nls till this is taken care of.. whatever it is.. what do you all think??
