Weird Snails

Well I was just checking how much water was left in my sump to ese if I should see more water up, and something caught my eye in my skimmer. There is a snail inside my skimmer about half the size of a pencil ereaser , climbing up the wall. This is puzzling to me because , I have a prefilter on my overflow , and to get in it would have to go through a needle wheel impeller. So my question is how did it get there and If it did go through the pump wouldn't that hurt the needlewheel?

I think I keep the asm filter thing on that though. I've also notice alot of small snails in the tank latley, I thought they were turbo snails but I never seen any of them get fully grown. Can snail eggs grow inside a skimmer?

Sounds like collonista snails. They look like kind of like baby turbos but never grow past the size you describe. I have thousands of them and they can get anywhere especially because they are nocturnal and like to find a hiding spot during the day.
