Weird Sps problem

Hey guys,

I'm having trouble with a greem slimer frag. More like a couple of them. They've been fine and growing for the past few months, but...

It starts off with the base getting darker and brown, and then after a week stn on the area. Doesn't have to be completely at the base, happens midway also.

Params are,

NO3 -> 1ppm
PO4 -> 0
ALK -> 8 DKH
CAL -> 416
STR -> 10
MAG-> 1320
PH -> 8.1

Can figure out what's wrong. The only things that have changed in the last 3 months, NO3 from 0ppm to 1 ppm. Alk has been fluctuating a bit, the max shift per day being 1 dkh. Total shift from 7.0 dkh to 8.6dkh.

Could it be the alk???

I think I may have found the problem, thinking back to what I changed in the last 2months.
I had started dosing iron to for macro and to help my goni recover. I'm pretty sure thats the reason.
