Pretty much sums it up. Mostly from turbo snails if they are that big.

Not from a turbo. Too flat. But yes it was a snail.

That's correct, Most of the Turbo's they sell are not meant for warm water and have a very short lifespan. These Mexican turbo's are gotten real cheap by LFS and are really not meant for reef tanks but they all sell them anyway. If you have enough of those really large ones die at one time they can actually crash a small unstable system. I have pretty much quit buying them anymore because you never know for sure what your getting. They do add interest to the sandbed though!

Definitely from the snails! I've got a few Mexican Turbos that's been in my tank for a very long time. I like the Zebra Striped ones too, those are easier to keep in my opinion.
