I woke up this afternoon to find one of my cleaner shrimp dead. I have had it for about 1.5 years. He was next to the tank. Has anyone ever had a cleaner go carpetsurfing? I have never even heard of this before. Could my female Clarkii have knocked it out? The pair is guarding a nest at the moment and the agressiveness has definitely increased for the other fish that get close to the nest, but they seemed to be OK with the shrimp. I have seen both clowns being cleaned by the shrimp. Do cleaners just jump out? Thanks.

Sorry, but I am pretty certain that suicide rates among members of the genus Lysmata increase exponentially as the desirability of the keeper decreases. The shrimp should be commended for staying with you for so long.
