Are you using the wavebox extension also? Are you taking the wavebox apart and just using the pump and not the housing?
dsandfort is doing something simular in his 500.

are you worried about the overflow being on the same side as the wave crashing back and making a sloshing noise?

I have been thinking of something very similar to this, but I am concerned about the overflow as well...

Has anyone else run waveboxes on a peninsula display of this length or longer? Any input?

I wouldn't be worried about the noise. I have 2 waveboxes on my 600 gallon. They're virtually silent even when placed close to the overflow. The corals love them, but visually, there's not much to be seen. I think you will need at least 4 waveboxes on a tank that size to create a visual effect of a standing wave. Just speaking from experience.

The one wavebox is located in the upper back left corner of my tank in this picture. The overflow is directly behind it.

I am not so much worried about the noise (provided it would not be extreme) as I am the functionality. Having an overflow on only one end, it would be nearly high and dry for a good portion of the time. This (I would imagine) would cause the water level in the overflow box to fluctuate, possibly causing issues with durso's, stockman stand pipes, or some other arrangments.

I hope I am not hijacking here, just thought it is something that should be considered in such an arrangement.

i ask in the tunze forum and the answer was i can run 2 in the same side

the mcreefesons

the boxes will be completed separated from the overflow it will be 2 boxes on the own

Trust me, with only 2 waveboxes, the water level won't fluctuate on a tank that size. The boxes are too little to produce a noticeable wave on the surface. In my tank, I can see the motion of the corals, but from the surface there's no wave.

Yes, I see how you are doing it, I was thinking of something very similar.

This was something I had wondered about (could the benefits be achieved without having a large surface wave), I would like the wavelike action below the surface, but I don't want a 1" (or more) standing wave playing havock with the overflows.

Are you planning any type of bracing thesaent14?

yes and no yes if i don't go with pvc bottom but if i go with pvc on the bottom i will try not to have if i go with glass i will use a 3/4 acrylic to brace the top

Hey man-

You probably don't have your waveboxes tuned in right. You should get a 2-3 inch swell on each side. I do with my 2 WB's and my tank is 96x48x30 with 800 pounds of live rock in there.

As for the noise issue- this was at first irritating to me also. So, i cut a piece of acrylic and painted it black to sit over the overflow- thus completely eliminating any "slosh" noise.
