A lttle hurricane update....

The eye of the hurricane is passing directly over the top of my house.

We are in the first outer wall of the eye, and is is blowing pretty hard. If you get news clips of the storm from Tampa, Where it says "Tampa" on the map I am directly uner the "A".

Is gusting to about 70MPH...somehow I still have power, my brothers in Orlando and Winter haven have no power.

We should be in the eye of the storm in about an hour.....wind is just now picking up.

The wind is directly out of the north, which is a good thing as my house sits north-south...but I have this 100 foot Palm tree in my front yard.....hope it makes it or it will be on the roof.

I have lived in this house for 33 years and this is the first time I have had to board up the windows.....gotta go am cooking dinner before we loose power

Good luck to the rest of the Bay area folks!!

Good luck, I hope everything goes OK for you. I have some family in Tampa also. Hoping the everyone in the area makes it through without incident.

As I suspected the projected path of the eye is directly in line with my house......storm has died down is now a tropical storm, winds 60-70mph now.....but still have a while until the eye moves over us...then it will go back out in the Gulf and become a hurricane again.

Is amazing as I still have power......but have the generators ready. No major damage, my fence was blown down, and a gate.....

Glad the storm has eased a bit but still, the center of the path can't be too nifty :( I hope you're on "high ground". Our prayers are with you and the rest of Fla.

Make sure you drop the temp in your house now while you can with your AC so you don't fry too much for too long after your power goes out if it does. I hope it doesn't and good luck. Turn your freezer and fridge way down as well so the food doesn't go bad quickly if the power goes out as well.

Being cold is a good thing.....have had it 70 in here for days.....this is the slowest moving storm in history, the eye is still not here....but the winds are down....30-50mph......but the eye is not moving right now.

Also have generators ready to run the A/C, fridge and freezer...hmmm just got a good gust there...like we had earlier, maybe the eye is nearer.

Still have power, is amazing!

Thanks for all the good words

did you make it through???

Yup, but now here comes IVAN, predicted to hit us here in Tampa, but this one is a monster Cat5. All my bud"s in the Keys are evacuating, they were coming to my place, but as we are now in the projected path......we will be going to Jacksonville, or Orlando depending on the path of this guy...

I will also leave if it is coming at us as a cat5 Hurricane is nothing to mess with. I saw what Andrew did.....

We will be open tomorrow 12-5.....but then closed as usual during the week.

Anybody that need somewhere to keep their critters after the storm is welcome to space at our shop.....that is if we still have a building and power.!!!

Thanks
