Well, today's the big day!

We're taking up my mom's tank to her tonight! At Christmas we had to tell her it wasn't ready yet and that she'd get it at New Year's. She was totally fine with that. She still doesn't know what her present is. She knows all of her kids are in on it and it has to be made.

I'm so excited for her to see it, but wicked nervous since there is so much to do! I have only a billion things to do today. I know I will run out of time and most certainly forget something. Hopefully nothing too serious or expensive goes wrong today. Haha, I'm SO glad I have an SUV and not a car!

Well, I just wanted to keep you all updated on what's happening. I will post pictures for you on here when it's all set up and pretty. She's going to love it! I've been planning this for so long! I can't wait!! :p

Thanks again to everyone that pitched in and was able to donate! I'm making the card right now with all your names on it!
~God Bless

P.S. Chris and I switched out my seahorse tanks last night and got the stand finished and in place. I'll post pics of that when it's looking good as well.

Okay, well I hate doing this since some people offered but never got their corals to me in time, but here's the list of people who have been able to donate up to this point. If your name's not there and you think possibly, by some chance, it could be, it might be, it SHOULD be, you donated to me once upon a time, I bought something from you maybe, you will give my mom something at the January meeting, or even you really have no idea but you want to make sure, PLEASE post or PM me so I can make sure you get your name on the card! I would feel terrible if I forgot someone and didn't realize it until I had already given it to her.

Adam Moore - xenia, chaeto
Steve Callaham - tank, sand, top
Jeremy J. -MyMonkey (not sure on last name) - percs, coral beauty, lta
Phillip Ferguson - cabbage leather
Paul Thompson - kenya tree, polyps
Steven Prater - base rock
Paul Whitby - hermits, mushrooms, and maybe some green stars
Kevin -LotR Clown? (I'm not sure if that's the right Kevin) - gave Chris bleached sps awhile back

Oh, by the way, these are people that have donated or sold me stuff for her tank. So if you even sold me something and are wondering if it's goin in her tank, just ask!

Thanks!!

I am going to sit back and be the un-master photographer in this little adventure. Hopefully there will be some good ones! Charging camera battery now to be ready!

Awesome ladies, I got my mother a fish tank for christmas too! it'll be going there next weekend. Also got my GF's mom a fw tank for christmas. Fishies make such good presents, lol. Good Luck with the tank move and i wanna see those PICS!!!

Well, se set it up while she was gone last ight, and when she walked through the door, we made her read the card first. She was a tad confused, then we showed her the tank. She started to tear up! I think we hit the jackpot! Thanks so much everyone for everything, the sales, donations, advise! She sat in front of it til 3:30 last night and was up doing the same thing at 8 this morning. We are going to a LFS here in Enid this afternoon. She said if the weather isn't bad, she plans on coming to the Jan. meeting! Score! Another poor soul converted! Mwahahahaha! Pics will be up when we return to Norman.

Are you telling me with all the SPS I hooked Chris up with you all were not able to get any in the tank?????????!!!!!!!!

sorry Jason

sorry Jason

Her lights aren't up to your corals. If you have any suggestions of what we can put in there from you, let us know!
Also, you had better be at the January meeting! We will hunt you down if necessary! ;-)

And of course I have teary, hand-covering-mouth pics, but I may not be allowed to post them since it was late and windy. Mummy dearest is single... lol Can't have no makeup or windblown hair pics all over the net, now can we? hehehe

And honestly, right now there are the easiest of corals in the tank right now. Leathers, xenia, green star polyps....Things that would survive a nuclear blast...When she is a little better at taking care of these things, we'll start talking about other corals....

Quick prayer request:

Quick prayer request:

Well, my mom LOVES her tank. She learned so much over the weekend and even went to a fish store with us and wanted to buy a shrimp. She got a few things there and was very excited to play with her tank. She's so cute. Well, New Year's Day we woke up to Sheri saying my mom passed out, split open her head, and has been getting sick all morning (and she actually didn't have anything to drink the night before). She thought she had the flu and wanted to ride it out. Sara (Firebug) and I made her come to the emergency room since she's been thinking she may have an ulcer. We found out she had internal bleeding and had to be admitted and receive 3 units of blood. They also gave her morphine. She had a pretty good sized blue and green goose-egg on her eyebrow. Yesterday she saw a gastroenterologist who scoped her and found two "kissing" ulcers. They have stopped bleeding for now. She may be released today. She's going on medication for them for 6 months. In 5 weeks she'll have another scope and a biopsy. But that's not the worst part. My mom has had terrible migraines most of her life that leave her throwing up for 12 hours. She has seen almost every kind of doctor and has had CAT scans and MRIs to acupuncture for them. Well, everyday she's been taking powdered aspirin, tylenol, and caffeine several times a day for years for her headaches. We knew this is what caused the ulcers. Well, now she can't take any kind of aspirin, etc for them. We're not sure what she can take, but if she can't take anything, she's going to be quite miserable. I just want to ask that if you pray, you send up a prayer for her. And if you don't, maybe consider praying for her. She's going to be going through a tough time right now. But I'm sure she's going to still try to come to the COMAS meeting if possible!! ;)

We can't upload the pics yet, but you'll get them! It was the perfect Christmas present. She's like a little kid in front of it...

God Bless~

Sorry to hear about her illness. Sounds like the timing of your present was perfect. We'll all keep her in our prayers...

Please tell your mother that from one migraine sufferee to another, my prayers will be with her as well. I'd rather deal with an ulcer than stop taking my excedrin for the migrains.

That's how she felt too. Now she's in the hospital. So be careful how much you take. But thanks guys, I'll tell her you're thinking of her.

I was going to ask that you do upload the photo of "mummy dearest" since I know of at least one single guy of that approximate age.

...But then after reading Brooks account of her mothers challenges, I am not sure she needs to be subjected to even more difficulties. :)

Prayers for her have been offered.

Well, I can show you pics of her at Thanksgiving. Here's she and me:

And here she is with her whole side of the family. She's on the top left.

Sara (Firebug) is directly in the middle back. She's wearing pink and black. She's still pregnant there, and has her hands on her husband, Eric. I'm beside her to the right, and Sheri (ouspeedbump) is below me.

Lol, if this is a singles program, I guess I should tell you she's 51 with us three kids, and wicked skinny. Lol
