well water filter

Sorta off topic but thought Id ask here anyway.

At our camp we had a brine system setup that came with the house but has apparently broke and now Im looking at atleast 1500 to get this thing running again.Ive decided we only use the camp in the summer so I really dont want to replace the unit.

The supply water comes from a deep well, has heavy iron and smell is noticably sulpher-ish.If possible Id like to plumb in some cannister filters for sediment and taste just to the main drinking water for now.

Im thinking skip an ro membrane and use cannisters that normally come with ro units with sediment filters and carbon block-s?

Question:
If this is doable, what sediment size and how many should I use?Carbon block? where should I plumb them in( i.e- at the kitchen sink or in the basement?ect.... Any repercusions I should be aware of ?

Thanks-Steve

They sell large canisters that connect right to the copper water supply after the meter for the house. That way you get full pressure, I would guess you want it wherever the water enters the house and it will not be effected by the temperature or light. I think going through RO canisters your flow will be greatly reduced.
