Wellso retracted not looking to happy

I bought this ultra color wellso about 6 months ago and he was doing absolutely amazing up until 2 months ago. he has since then been retracted, i have not seen his feeding tentacles but he still has all his color. he used to blow up really nice and big, now he seems hard as a rock....my nitrate are a little high, 30ppm working on that....i have two clowns and a small blue tang in a 30g tank. Good skimming and lots of flow. What to do what to do???

could be related to the nitrate, but more likely that it's getting picked on by the Tang.

My bet is the tang; but, are the clowns by any chance swimming in and out of it?

nope, my clowns like my branching hammer, i rarely see the tang bothering it.

I have experienced the same issue. Welso open happy, big. Then all of a sudden pulled in and withdrawn. I have noticed the my Sailfin Tang taking little nips at it from time to time. Think that's the issue hugh? Any idea on what to do other than get rid of the Sailfin?
