Welp cracked my tank

you could try to replace the glass pane yourself? Ive never personally had to and would be scared lol. But its a cheaper fix.
 
Don't try to repair it, it likely wouldn't hold water or would leak at some point. No reputable aquarium builder will repair tanks.

I would think a builder wouldn't do it because it's not worth the time and money to repair it and they don't want the liability.

But I disagree. I don't see why you couldn't repair it. Get a custom cut piece of glass from a local glass company. Tape off the edges for straight clean silicone application and put some good quality silicone at the joints. Pick up some cheap clamps at Harbor Freight for a few bucks and let it cure for a couple days and your back in business.
 
I agree. there are plenty of people that DIY tanks all the time so why would it be so hard? There is even a web site about DIY tanks.
