i would like to get some pics of wenneras mantis shrimp because i am tryign to get one ordered or found for me at the lfs and the owner needs pics so she can find me one thanx alot
What makes you say that isn't neogonodactylus wennerae? I could be wrong but the telson looks a lot like an N Wenn to me. Color is not a valid way to identify this species. And anyone who thinks that looks like a peacock is smoking cracknubreefer said:That isn't a neogonodactylus wennerae. If you look in my gallery you can see a pic of my mantis, it's a male N. Wenn. and he's about 2.5", so full grown. They can be mostly green or red and slightly spotted.
The comment about the peacock was toward the original poster's fish store lady. I am pretty certain that this is indeed an N Wenn. Look at the telson. Dr. Roy has described N. Wenn telsons as having 2 pronounced teeth with 2 shorter blunt teeth. Looks just like this pic.nubreefer said:I don't believe I said it looks like a peacock, but I would be willing to put money on it not being a N. Wenn... Perhaps Dr. Caldwell would know.
