Was really fun. I missed the last/first one and I wont miss anymore. SunDevil I hope you had a good time and got lots of freebies! Thank you all who bought corals from me, and traded. The blue Xenia is opening up right now and its seriously amazing. So a BIG thank you to working4frags. It was a little hard to hear Baja but a big thanks for the info, it was insightful.

I also got a SHROOM he sweet looking. ok see ya'll at the next one.

A super meeting with a super turnout. Yes its tough putting names to faces. Name tags help out some. Next meeting will grab a pack at Walgreens or something and bring them along. We might want to think about having a 5 min intro or something at the beginning of the meeting. Helps us newbies out from feeling so lost. Another thought maybe somebody can do a group photo and post here after the meeting with names ie.. left to right etc. of the attendees.
Thanks Baja for the great info. Really enjoyed your talk. Love the corals you provided.
Lets keep this going westsiders (eastsiders too) I think we have many great times to come.

I was going to ask for a photo of everyone while I was there since was my first meeting but I wasn't sure how to go about asking and then I had to leave erarly to go to work 3rd shift sucks man. I wanted to chat with Ryan I didn't put the name with the face until I got home but next time man. ok my cookies are buring see ya laters peoples
I like the name tag idea as well

For starters, I have to say 'thank you' to everyone, for the past, today, and the future. Terri, Logan, and I felt truly welcomed and we are floored by the generosity and kindness of everyone. Our empty nano is now 'alive' and the soon to be set 63g (future home) is even more anticipated than ever. I am a little embarrased because in the confusion of getting everyone's real names, screen names, donations, and the species names of corals (how many different species of Zoas are there anyway... tried to look it up... good Lord!), I got very confused. I'm not exactly sure of the names of what everyone gave me. Please PM me if you get a chance... it's a little embarrasing.

I'm so excited because this is our 1st real hobby as a family (a dog was out of the question). Terri and I were saying how we weren't expecting for the 'family' to include so many others. We had no idea. We really do feel THAT welcome by the group. Thank you.

As a HS teacher we're always looking at healthy groups. I was so excited to meet everyone that I couldn't wait to walk around, but I know there were a few others who came to their 1st meeting also. Please take these only as possible suggestions for the future as through the eyes of a newbie.
- I wasn't sure who was the point-person until Bajabum (great job by the way) spoke. Is there supposed to be someone as lead? As a newbie, it would have eased some of the stress of not knowing what was going on (and everyone seems to know at least a small group), of someone to go to. Maybe an official newbie greeter, or even directing all the newbies to each other to huddle for support? IDK... just an idea.
- Stress... names! So, confused between screen names, (past screen names for some), wives /husbands of someone's name & real names. I think the group picture would be monumental for especially the newbies.

Again, thank you for the generosity of everyone who gave us a small frag and met us, and I hope I can return favors in the future. It is my personal GOAL to be in a situation in the future where I can be as generous as you are, both back to you and to someone just starting up. We are planning to be there this coming weekend, because it's important to us, and is a little closer. We hope to meet MORE people!

I guess I am the groups lead. I started the westside group. I and my wife. I am abit shy when it comes to public speaking. I am working on it. maybe someone has some tips. you all have been great. all newbies are welcome.

pc1blues,
yes I think name tags would help, we didn't know anyone until they came up to us and I am terrible with names to begin with so please don't be offended next time we meet and I don't remember most of the names.

SunDevil,
Happy to donate, the corals were Xenia Elongata, its a common strain that grows very fast, and a Fire and Ice Zoanthid. For Zoa I.D. there is a site that has most of the names listed with pics. its actually zoaid {{dot}} {{com}}. I don't know if I can put the link.

Sorry I had to miss this meeting. Helfrich, maybe I can buy a frag of that Xenia from you down the road.

Great meeting

Great meeting

I enjoyed the lecture, It helps having someone w/ years of experience to pull the vail off our newbie eyes. Thank's Baja for your insight, experience and the Purple urchin, He's running around, exploring his new home.
P.S. Thanks for the Fuge seed too.

Thanks ~St1dNano~ for the Zena I love it, could'nt get a pick because it's still stuck between rocks, mounting.

Thanks Helfrich’s Chic for the Palys there all open & looking good.
Have a look.
