Sweet! Thats awesome!

Was this intentional? What are you guys feeding them? Enriched rotifers?

Congrats! :)

yep it was on purpose.... feeding newly hatched live baby brine.... We are so excited... our male swallowed his last batch... but he did good this time... I juct checked on him and he kind of opened his mouth and it looks like he has several more in there...

Can you imagine?

*GULP!* Your wife looks at you. "Honey... what was that!? Did you swallow the kids AGAIN!"

:D

After he spits them all out. You need to feed him like crazy. If you have a female that is too reproductive she will put more eggs in his mouth and he will starve to death

Thanks for the advise... I will watch him very close. but we do have him in a breeder net away from her... and I have no intention of letting him out until he has eaten for a few days and I am sure he is OK. I have read about over productive females so we are being cautious.
the babies are eating like crazy.... I just feed them and all 3 are eating very well. he even opened his mouth like he was eating but I saw more babies in there???? do you know how long until he spits them all out?

Kathy tried to tell me he wasn't done and I wouldn't listen. I was wrong.... as usual. He finished with 35. Here is a pic of 34.
We found one more loose that escaped the net. We named him Lucky. Now we just can't figure out which one is him.

Isn't nature amazing? We haven't thought about selling any yet though a LFS has offered to buy them. We just hope we can take care of them so they grow up big and strong.

Cool. Were they identifiable as male and female? I picked one up at the Critter not long ago but they said putting two in the tank may lead to aggression. I'm sure you know these guys are being over harvested in the wild and I believe there will be quite the market for captive raised.

well what I did was I bought 3 and watched when these 2 paired they outted the third one so I caught him and put him in another tank... These 2 have been paired for a little over 3 months now and this was his 2nd batch of eggs.... I think he swallowed the first ones? they do that sometimes.
